Terms of Use
Last updated 2026-09-13
This is an agreement between you and yumd (“we”) about using the yumd iOS app and the yumd.app website (together, “yumd”). Creating an account or using yumd means you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. yumd does not ask your age at sign-up; the age requirement is expressed through the App Store rating and these terms.
2. Your account
yumd requires an account — there is no anonymous mode. The reason: your menu is a memory built over months, and losing a phone must not mean losing it; and author-based moderation only works with an identity.
You sign in with Apple, Google or email. You are responsible for keeping access to your account safe. One account per person; do not share or resell it.
3. Your content
Photos, cutouts, dish names, notes, menus and your profile are yours. You keep every right to them.
To make yumd work, you grant us the right to store, back up and display that content — to you on every device you sign in on, and to the people you choose to share with. Menus are private by default; you decide when a menu becomes public and who may follow you.
We do not use your content for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI models without your separate consent.
Only the cutout (the dish with its background removed) ever leaves your phone. Originals stay on the device — see the Privacy Policy.
4. Sharing and following
When you make a menu public or accept a follower, that person can see the cutouts, names, notes and venues you recorded for dishes in public menus. You can make a menu private or remove a follower at any time; after that they can no longer view it, including menus they had pinned.
Content you make public can be pinned by others into their own menus. Pinning does not copy your photos: if you withdraw them, they disappear on their side.
5. Acceptable use
Do not upload content that is illegal, abusive, or not yours. Do not impersonate others, harvest other users’ data, interfere with the service, or try to bypass feature limits. yumd moderates by author: violations may lead to content being taken down or the account suspended.
6. Free and paid
Free tier: 1 menu and up to 50 dishes, with the full capture, background removal, order card, sharing and poster flow using the basic materials. The current limits are shown in the app.
Paid tier: unlimited menus and dishes, plus every poster material. Four ways to pay for the same access: weekly, monthly or yearly (auto-renewing), or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices, periods and renewal terms are shown on the in-app purchase screen and on the App Store for your country before you confirm.
Billing: all purchases go through Apple’s App Store and are charged to your Apple ID. Auto-renewing plans renew at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device, or from the Plan row in yumd’s settings. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage access.
Refunds: App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under Apple’s refund policy; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support. We never see your card and cannot refund directly; when Apple issues a refund, paid access ends.
A one-time purchase grants use of yumd’s current features indefinitely. It does not include AI or cloud services that may launch later with their own costs.
Changes to pricing or benefits: we may update prices, plans or what each tier includes. Material changes will be announced in advance, and a price increase to an existing auto-renewing plan only takes effect with your consent through Apple.
Your menu does not disappear when you stop paying or a plan lapses: you can still read, edit, export and delete all of your content. Only adding beyond the free limits and the paid poster materials require an active plan.
7. Third-party services
yumd uses Apple (sign-in, push notifications, App Store), Google (sign-in), RevenueCat (purchase validation and access), Cloudflare (image storage and networking) and Vercel (website). Each has its own terms.
8. Deletion and termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your identifying data — see the Privacy Policy for what remains in anonymised form.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and may discontinue the service with reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
yumd is provided “as is”. We try, but do not guarantee, that the service is always available or error-free. Dish names recorded by you or others may be wrong; yumd is not a source of nutrition or allergen information.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid yumd in the last 12 months.
10. Changes
We may revise these terms. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use yumd afterwards means you accept the new version.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Disputes that cannot be settled by negotiation go to the competent courts of Hanoi, Vietnam.
